A fruit that commanded 4 stars from Rick Nelson of the Star Tribune? We'll be the judge of that! We paused for moment in front of Dino's Gyros and contemplated if we should get the Feta Bites before the apple, but the rain had made its way through our first layer of clothing and we knew we were running out of time. We hid under the roof of The Produce Exchange Carnes Av. and Underwood St. and purchased 2 Lemonade Apples ($5.00). The Lemonade apple is fairly new to America- a natural cross between parent varieties Royal Gala and Braeburn, Lemonade’s bright yellow skin comes from its Golden Delicious grandparent.

Evan: Oh yeah, this is definitely 4 stars.

Jules: Why 4?

Evan: It's not too cold, I have sensitive teeth. It has the right amount of crunch. And it is both sweet and sour.

Final Review:

4 out of 4 Stars Shareable if you don't mind biting into someone else's apple.

Unique feature- slightly effervescent.

Bonus- co-owner Sharon offered a taste of their refreshing Kombucha.
