MN State Fair Food: Peppadew Olives on a Stick

We braved the wind and rain and spent 2 hours eating at the Fair today. We started with new Peppadew Olives on a Stick ($8.50) at Fried Fruit & Fried Olives, South of the Grandstand. They are basically 5 green olives wrapped in Peppadew peppers (sweet, slightly spicy South African peppers) and then deep-fried. You have a choice between ranch dressing or hot (spicy) honey sauce to dip.

Evan: These have too much breading. One bite is all I need.

Jules: The first bite is enjoyable. But I'm having psychic visions of heartburn in my near future. The hot honey dip is on point, but I'm not sure Ranch pairs well with these peppers and olives- unless you're the type who likes Ranch on everything- (no judgement).

Final Review: 2 out of 4 stars Best shared or you'll likely get heartburn. Unique feature- the peppadew pepper.
